DAY 4 Denver, CO

Gotta play some catch up. Right now I’m typing on Jude’s laptop on our way from Denver to Logan Utah. We’re in and have been for quite some time, the middle of no where in Wyoming. It’s really pretty, never been to Wyoming. Geographically it’s similar to Northern Colorado (makes sense, right?) It’s incredibly windy, we’re getting tossed around like a sock in the dryer (worst analogy ever.) Sammy’s sitting next to me playing Dr. Mario on his laptop while Scott is at the helm in front of me and Jude’s directly to his right annoying him with his musical choices and air-drummed solos. It’s pretty awesome. Okay, so last night, and the events leading up to it.

DAY 4 Denver, CO
We woke up around 9:00am in the living room of my sister Emily’s house. It was nice to sleep somewhere clean and safe. We got up and Emily had taken the girls to go get some breakfast and Jeff had already gone to work. Jude, with his craftiness and “where there‘s a will there‘s a way“ optimism, found pancake batter and whipped some up. It was awesome. Emily and the girls returned shortly after and we just sort of puttered around all day, Scott had to wait around for a phone interview and there was confusion at what time based on what time zone they’d be calling so we just hung around, played a little Xbox, and were thoroughly entertained by my nieces. Around 4:00pm we went down to Denver and parked at the venue, and then went and ate some dinner at a food court at the street mall four blocks away. Why is it that the best and most authentic falafel is found in big city food courts? Don’t know. Probably won’t ever. The Marquis theatre, where we were playing, wasn’t really a theatre, nor a theater, but it was pretty awesome. Nice and clean, small stage with a big sound system. It was really fun, lots of people there and some singing along and dancing. Nothing really notable happened at the show, no funny “OMG, I cannot wait to blog about this” moments. But, we did play with a band called Vadera that was so gnar. They we’re similar to Denali (who I love) but a little more rocking. It was stellar. They’re album was put out by Second Nature, who also houses Ilya. I’m pretty sure they should do a tour together. Two killer bands fronted by beautiful voiced women touring together is sure to be a success. So yeah, Denver, a success if I do say so myself.
